A stubborn materials problem became an American-made breakthrough.

Putting labels on plastic goods doesn’t seem like that big a deal, until you try to do it yourself.

Adhesive can work for a while and in certain conditions, but watch out if it gets wet, especially when chemicals are involved. Paint can work too, but is easily abraded away.

Adhesives can lose their grip when plastic goods encounter moisture or chemicals, while paint can be worn away by abrasion. Solving that challenge required a different approach to how labels bond with plastic.

This story follows the drive behind a breakthrough labeling technology designed to make plastic identification more durable, practical, and capable of supporting products through real-world use.

The Life Work of Mold In Graphic Systems founder:

Tackling the Problem from The Garage

The life work of Mold In Graphic Systems founder, Michael Stevenson, is detailed by Forbes contributor Jim Vinoski, explaining how the technology that he invented in the 80’s is continuing to help our customers worldwide today.

It’s the true story of his beginnings in a tiny, 400 square foot garage, with nothing more than an idea and the determination to succeed.

He spent the next seven years building that idea into reality, through lots of hard work and trial and error.

This story is for anyone who needs a little extra motivation to make their dream a reality, or that little boost of hope to know that if you refuse to give up, you CAN achieve what you dream of.

Our feature in Forbes of course is one of our favorites to date.
