Polyfuze Graphics Corporation (PGC) and Mold In Graphics Systems (MIGS) are U.S. based Polymer Technology companies with a suite of unique and disruptive specialty products.
Polyfuze and MIGS are world-class manufacturer to more than a thousand companies around the globe including: Rubbermaid Commercial, General Motors, YETI Coolers and Ford Motor Company. Polyfuze and MIGS remain a privately held family owned company. In 2014, Matt Stevenson took the helm as President/CEO from his father Michael Stevenson, who founded the companies over 40 years ago.
In 2017, under Matt’s leadership, the two companies embarked on ISO certifcation and have officially reached that goal on August 28th, 2020.
The companies have had their sights set on this milestone since hiring Patrick Phillips in 2017, a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and qualified LEAN trainer. Patrick has 30 year extensive background as a Honeywell Engineer.
As an ISO 9001 Auditor and LEAN trainer, Patrick assisted Matt Stevenson, providing leadership and drive for LEAN excellence together. Working together, the two of them have brought a new mindset into both PGC and MIGS, resulting in the entire organization focused on continuous improvement and eventual ISO Certification.
With Patrick’s guidance, the companies began their Lean Transformation in 2017. He helped both companies develop their Quality Management Systems from the ground up, including a Quality Policy and Quality Plan. Patrick also helped the organization begin developing procedures and policies for each department, known as “Centers of Excellence, or COEs.”
Each COE went through a LEAN Transformation earning their Six Sigma Green Belt Certifications, which included Value Stream Mapping in every COE, making improvements to department processes and also included all company management pursuing and achieving Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, along with all other company employees achieving Six Sigma White Belt Qualifications.
In January of 2020, the companies partnered with BSI Corporation to begin Stage 1 of ISO Auditing.
In August 2020, Stage 2 of ISO Auditing began, and both PGC and MIGS were rewarded with successful closure and the achievement of their ISO 9001:2015 Certification. Dawn Kelley, of BSI Corporation said she was “impressed by [the companies] Quality Management System.”
The benefit of becoming officially recognized ISO certified companies extends to all current and future customers of Polyfuze and Mold in Graphic Systems, but it has also had a huge impact to improve internal operations of the entire organization. The employees of Polyfuze and Mold in Graphic Systems are thankful for Patrick’s expertise and his ability to mentor COE Managers in their LEAN Six Sigma Transformation.
ISO Certification is an international standard describing best practice and is an attestation from an accredited and independent third party that our company has systems and processes that meet this standard.
